Have you ever asked your guests, “Can I get anyone another?” and then had 4,5, or 6 people respond with a YES! That’s what inspired this project. It can be difficult to carry that many drinks in one persons hands. However, with a beer caddy, you don’t have to worry about dropping any drinks and you also have a cool way of serving your guests. Using only reclaimed wood, and materials found on our property, we we’re able to create this unique project that has also turned into a great gift idea because everyone seems to want one for themselves. Here’s a picture tutorial on how we did it.
First, we took an old piece of decking that was 5 1/2″ wide. Using this piece of wood we were able to make the bottom and end pieces. The ends were run across the table saw to create the groove in which a small piece of a pallet slat was inserted to keep the bottles from banging into one another. The ends were then screwed together after drilling pilot holes. Two more pallet slats were cut down to create the side and simply nailed into place. By drilling 2 holes both ends we were able to fit some old rope in which we attached to a mulberry branch from the property. They grow back extremely fast so don’t feel bad about cutting a branch off. In the end, we decided to put a bottle opener on the side and it’s done! We hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours.
