WEEKEND HARVEST:

 IMG_4696PUMPKINS IN JULY???:

We had a pretty nice haul this weekend in our ALL ORGANIC GARDENS. This is our first year growing VIDALIA ONIONS, which we started because they are a favorite of GREAT GRANDMA, who turns 91 this year, and has been an essential part of our learning process. IMG_4697

The volunteer mini pumpkins showed up in the middle of our corn. Some might think that pumpkins are way to early to harvest, but they actually act as a natural DE-WORMER for our chickens and they love them.

OMG, we might have grown too many zucchini plants however. Guess our friends and family won’t have to worry about buying them this year. IMG_4700

Here is a link to our WIRE BASKET that we have filled with our potatoes. It’s been a great addition to our homestead and how we keep our gardens organic.
