About Us

IMG_0564We are a family that is dedicated to sharing ideas with others on how to live a self sufficient lifestyle through homesteading.   We homestead on five acres in SW Missouri with 4 rabbits, 7 chickens, 2 goats and 2 dogs.  Our family enjoys working in our three gardens, orchard and 4 berry patches.  Our orchard includes apple, peach, pear & plum fruit trees.  The berry patches have grapes, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries & blueberries.  But, our passion is re-purposing almost anything into something useful.  Starting this adventure we really had no idea what we were doing or in store for.  So, we jumped in with everything we had and just did it.  Knowing we would make mistakes along the way and that was ok.  During our adventure there became a realization that homesteading is what you make of it. Wherever you may live. Country, city, suburb. We don’t think you have to be completely off grid to consider yourself a homesteader. Although, we would love to be complete. We all can take steps toward being more self reliant in the best ways for our own family. Everyone’s journey is different and we all get there at different times. We all range in different areas of know how. We can learn from each other and cheer for the little and big successes we make towards homesteading. It is not a place or how much you have. But, a state of mind. You are what defines Homesteading.
